The Chefs’ Aisle was my Project 1 project in the Vitality squad. We wanted to motivate students into cooking more meals and leading a healthier lifestyle. We developed a supermarket system with an interface, this is shown in our video. Students can choose one ingredient from four different nutritional groups to make a balanced meal. Our interface suggests recipes with those ingredients. Students pay the standard price and receive a receipt with their recipe on it. They scan this at our tubing systems and place a reusable box under it and receive the exact portions they paid for. They box up their ingredients, take their receipt and are ready to cook! The idea behind this was to lower the threshold of cooking by removing certain thinking steps and keeping the price consistent.
